Or what about buying a potted tree for Christmas use it for as long as it can come into your home then plant in backyard or in a national park. This makes better sense than buying a real cut tree.A tree from china is poisonous in fact anything from there is an anti America purchase.

We couldn't find any options to recycle a fake tree you already own, so we would recommend continuing to use it until it's ready for replacement and then switching to real trees each year after that.

If you want to make the switch sooner, you can reuse portions of the old fake tree to make wreaths or garlands, or you could donate it to Goodwill to prevent it from going to a landfill (and potentially keeping someone else from buying a new one). Be creative!

One thing to think about with real trees is that they can have a type if mold /fungus that grows on them that can make people who have lowered immune systems or lung disease very sick.

So think and choose the best option for your family.
